Litter Prevention

A beautiful community is one without litter, a goal KLRB believes we can realize when we all work together.

We sponsor many community litter and trash clean-ups, working with neighborhood groups, volunteers, and sponsors to protect our environment and improve the quality of life for everyone in Little Rock.

Recycling

Keep Little Rock Beautiful works in partnership with the City of Little Rock Sustainability Office, Solid Waste Services, Little Rock Recycles, commercial waste haulers, and members of the community to find ways to expand recycling, and we continue to advocate for more effective recycling programs and policies in Little Rock.

It is part of what we do through our commitment to a cleaner, healthier environment and improved quality of life for present and future Little Rock residents and visitors.

Beautification

Green landscapes, sustainable plantings, sculpture gardens, and an absence of litter are making Little Rock a beautiful city to behold.

Public Awareness

One of the aims of Keep Little Rock Beautiful is to promote public awareness and understanding of the effects of litter on our environment, economy, and the quality of  life in Little Rock.

We continuously look for ways to contribute to education and information sharing that increases awareness of recycling, litter prevention, and environmental conservation.

MLK Day of Service – Litter Challenge

January 18, 2021 @ 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

Keep Little Rock Beautiful is challenging the citizens of Little Rock to get out and pick up litter on at least four city blocks near where you live, work, or play.

The year 2020 changed our routines and habits, but sadly it did not change littering habits. We are seeing disposable masks and gloves among the plastic bottles and fast food bags along our streets and parks.

So, we are challenging you to make a difference in our community.

Take pictures of your actions and results and post them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #RespectTheRock & #ZeroLitterLRTag KLRB, too!
